Jehovah witnesses, do you always welcome new light?

A Jw responder in response to a question of mine mentioned that brothers incarcerated in china, upon release did not express regret with regard to the new light they had missed out on. It got me to wondering, how do you feel about new light, do you excitedly welcome it or does it cause consternation sometimes? Or what? Could you do without it sometimes?
