I have a 12 month 3 week old son.. I've purchased several sippy cups, he doesn't seem to understand ?

How to use them. Which sippy cup worked the best for you? Handles, no handles? I've tried a few such as Gerber ( transitioning one) Some Playtex one, with handles, and I also bought a cheaper one at Walmart, that doesn't have any of the valves in it, you just sort of bite on it and the milk comes out pretty easy.
