How much would it cost to gut rehab a home?
I would like to rehab a 2000 sq. ft. historic home in St. Louis. uming the home is sound structurally, (no foundation, piering, exterior wall/tuck pointing, roof or leakage issues exist) what could possible range of cost be to completely gut the home, rehab and update systems like plumbing, electric, sewage, heating/cooling be? I would have to get plans approved to stay true to the original architecture, but would be allowed to modernize areas like kitchens and bathrooms. All rooms would be done in hardwood with the exception of tiling the 3 bathrooms. I would do stainless appliances in the kitchen and use affordable cabinetry and granite counter tops. Bathrooms would be tiled and include double vanity with granite, spa tub and separate shower in master and pedastal sinks with showers in the other 2. I would also build a moderate rear deck with a walk way leading to a new 2 car garage and include a wood privacy fence to close off the property. A security system would be installed.
