How can you find out if you purchased stolden property?

i recently bought so electronics from someone selling them in front of a store they were not in aoriginal box and I got them for cheap. power cord missing from one and no manuels etc. I would like to resale them but dont want to if they have been stolden. how could i find out if something like I bought has been taken in my local area
