Guys only plz! First best answer 10 points- Why does it take him so long to realize he misses me???

My ex and I started talking again about 2 months ago for a solid month. (Hanging out alot, talkin all night..) And all of a sudden he stopped calling, and even sending me messages. It's like he's mad at me or something. So after trying to see what was wrong numerous times, I stopped calling him too. I don't get it I'm always there for him, whatever he needs I always do. So anyways, the pattern for the past 2 1/2 years has been, if we get in a fight or stop talking I'm the one to go to him to see how to fix the problem and he basically won't talk to me. So i stop contacting him. And then about 2-3 months later I'll get a phone call from him saying how much he misses me and needs me and how he really wants things to go back to how they were when we were together. So its been like 2 weeks and we haven't talked. Should I just keep ignoring him until he comes cryin back? I know this sounds really confusing so sorry! But i do love this guy.. Guys can you help me out?
