Need some parenting help because I am just at a loss with my teen...?

Well the good news is that teenagers grow up eventually. Do not go to bed feeling like a jerk. You are the parent, and that's that. If the children do not recognize that then it will only get worse. Know your role, and make sure they do too. Do not lie to her parents for her. that would just give them the impression that your their friend instead of the parent, and then they will expect it over and over again. Put your foot down..that's all you can do. You should not have to give him options or make any deals with him. Its your way only if he wants to be a smarty pants to you. Tell him when he learns respect, you two can compromise on things and until then he has no choices!!!!
